Long Term Foster Dogs

Name: Indi - PALLIATIVE CARE
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Whippet
Sex: Female
Age: 10 yrs app
Colour:  Brindle
Dog friendly: To be assessed
Cats: No
Children: 8 +

SADLY INDI HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH AORTIC STENOSIS AND SLOW HEART RATE, CONDITIONS AT EITHER END OF THE SPECTRUM SO WE ARE UNABLE TO MEDICATE - AS SUCH SHE WILL STAY IN END OF LIFE FOSTER AT HQ AS IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SHE COULD GO INTO HEART FAILURE AT ANY TIME :(((((

Poor Indi has recently come into rescue from the pound and was finding kennel life quite distressing :(  She loves people and tennis balls, although does appear a little deaf. She has bonds very quickly with people and is the most affectionaate little girl and quite slight in stature weighing in at about 12kg. She is a very chatty girl and will telll you when she wants you to play and throw the ball and also when she wants some food or treats!!!!   She was quite anxious when she arrived and we do think she does have some separation anxiety issues, so we will be looking for a home where there is somebody around most of the time.  She is a lovely girlie and would suit an active retired person as despite her age she flies around the garden and leaps around chasing the ball!!

She is such a sweet girl and we do feel she may have had a hard life as she has a very odd gait but this will be checked when she has a fulll mot with our vet Doggy Doc Dave xxx

All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered  where medically appropriate.

Please note that due to limited resources we are only able to rehome our dogs within a 20 mile radius of Reigate.

Name: Daisy and Sophie - LONGTERM FOSTER REQUIRED
Breed: Border Collies
Sex: Females
Age: 13 yrs and 11 yrs
Colour: Black and White
Dog friendly: Yes
Cats: Yes
Children: 10 +

These lovely, friendly girls have sadly lost their dad and mum is too poorly to look after them.  They have been much loved and cared for and this is very evident in their happy and relaxed demeanour.

Daisy is the older lady and is more reserved than the vivacious Sophie, although instantly comes alive as soon as you introduce a tennis ball!!! She is very affectionate and gentle although plays second fiddle to Sophie who barges her out of the way if she thinks she is missing out on any fuss!!!

Sophie is the confident one, rushing up to everyone with her whole body wagging and begging for cuddles and you will get nuzzled if you stop the stroking!! Both girls love to be spoken to and are very fussy and straight over when you sit down :)))

As these ladies are seniors we are looking for longterm fostering as Daisy is currently on anti-inflammatories for an arthritic shoulder and Sophie has had previous mast cell tumours removed. As a longterm foster we provide any necessary veterinary care at ECR's vets and ask the fosterer to provide a loving home and food if possible. These girlies are very sweet and would make wonderful companions xxx

All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered  where medically appropriate.

BLIND AND LOOKING FOR LOVE AND A WARM LAP

Angel is an adorable , loving & friendly scruffy 11 year old terrier and is sadly looking for a retirement home with a warm lap and lots of cuddles due to a change in personal circumstances.

Her lack of sight doesn’t hold her back and she successfully navigates herself around the home - finding all the best laps and pillows for a snooze. She enjoys her walks and has great recall, always listening out and sniffing for where you are, and will follow you around off lead, just needing a little voice guidance around any obstacles such as holes or steps.

She has lived with other dogs, but over time it becomes apparent that she would prefer to be the only permanent dog in the household - visiting dogs are fine though.

Angel likes to spend her evenings cuddled up next to you, but will also settle in her own bed or with a chew if she senses you are near.

Recent upheavals and her lack of sight have compounded her separation anxiety and she is currently on some medication to assist with this whilst she is settling here at ECR HQ and we would look to continue this initially when she goes to her new home at the rescue cost.

We would look for the new owner to work with a behaviour programme to help assist with the separation issues and really looking for someone that is home based/retired, with understanding neighbours as she does tend to bark when left.

She is such a sweet girlie, just wanting to be loved and so happy to sleep in her bed or nibble on her chews whilst you are busy doing things in the house and it is so sad that she hasn’t got her own lap to snuggle in ☹

If you have room in your heart and on your sofa for this little angel, please contact us.

We are looking for either an Adoption  or a Foster ( where all veterinary expenses will be covered by the rescue) Home for Angel.

Angel  is vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered .

Name: Diesel
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Sex: Female
Age: 10 yrs
Colour: Brindle
Dog friendly: Anxious around new dogs
Cats: No
Children: adult only

DeeDee has had a very difficult life and as such is slowly regaining her trust in people but is still anxious when she leaves the safety of HQ.  After months of assessment we have decided that Diesel will remain in longterm foster here as she really struggles with any interaction with men and she is very happy and settled here x

Name: Ruby
Breed: American Bulldog cross
Sex: Female
Age: 8 years
Colour: Brindle & White
Dog friendly:

No

Cats: No
Children: Adult

Ruby is a lovely affectionate girl, full of exuberance and is at her happiest charging around the garden with her toys and then coming to flop on you for a cuddle. She is quite a clumsy girlie and doesn’t realise her size or her weight (35 kilos) and likes to try and sit on your lap!!

She underwent a cruciate and meniscus tear operation at the end of last summer which meant that walks and socialisation training were suspended for some months, the operation was a great success and she is no longer in pain and back to charging around the garden.

Ruby is very much a people dog and loves nothing more than you to spend time in her company interacting with toys, treats and cuddles and is even very gentle with elderly people despite her normal clumsiness .

She is a big favourite amongst all of our volunteers, even the ones that are not normally bullbreed lovers as she gives everyone such a wonderful greeting and is genuinely pleased to see them.Ruby is not keen to share this and as such we are looking for a semi rural home with a large garden where she can have some decent off lead playing and any walks can be onlead wearing a muzzle.

Ruby is currently in foster and her foster mum can confirm that she is easy to have around, happy to occupy herself with a bone or rawhide and take herself of into the garden to play with a toy.

She greets everyone with a bottom wag and a smile and is good company and can be found beside you helping in the kitchen (she does counter surf!!) or on gardening duty down in the veg patch.

.

Ruby is extremely sensitive,  and always keen to please and loves any form of fuss, especially tummy tickles, please consider this big bundle of love.

Ruby  is vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered .
