Name: Fergus
Breed: Patterdale cross
Sex: Male
Age: 2 yrs
Colour: Chocolate with tan
Dog friendly:

Can be over enthusiastic

Cats: No
Children: 8 yrs +

Fergus is a real cheeky chappy!!!  He is SUPER FRIENDLY with everyone and loves to give you a good face and ear wash, a very loveable, licky lad !!  He is an extremely busy boy and would need a very active home where there is lots going on as he is very inquisitive and likes to be involved with everything. He will need a VERY SECURE garden with a minimum of 6ft panel fencing and gravel boards as he is very scent driven x This said, he is the most affectionate little man and as soon as you sit down he is up for cuddles and quite happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you x

All true terrier lovers will be smitten with this boy whose antics will make you smile. He loves a good country walk and is used to a long line and will not be one that can be let off as he will pick up a scent and go. Any offlead will need to be in a secure area. He would be more suited to a rural home as we feel he would not benefit from suburban park walking but is better in a low density field and woodland area. Please give this lovely lad a chance x

Name: Holly and Daisy
Breed: Jack Russell Teriers
Sex: Female
Age: 7 yrs and 4 yrs
Colour: White with tan
Dog friendly:

Relaxed around other dogs but still assessing. Holly can be bossy!!

Cats: Unlikely
Children: 10 +

Holly and Daisy came into rescue as unclaimed strays and we think they are possibly mum and daughter. Holly had severe respiratory issues and is currently under our cardiologist awaiting lab results to ascertain the best course of treatment going forward. She is currently on medication and is responding very well but subject to lab results these will be streamlined for her condition. They are a bonded pair and as such we will be looking to place them together. Once her medical condition and ongoing treatment is confirmed, the rescue may sponsor these costs longterm.

They are lovely, friendly girls and Holly is the confident one with Daisy following her lead. Daisy is keen to say hello to all dogs but Holly is more observant and reads them better.  Both girls will need house training as we think they may have lived out, although they love the warmth in the OAP unit and snuggle up together in their big soft bed x Daisy will be neutered but we are not keen to put Holly under a second GA currrently. They are typical terriers, especially Holly who will be off on a scent given the chance, so they do require a secure garden with min 5 ft panel fencing with gravel boards. Very cuddly girls that are happy to sit up on your lap for lots of fussing and absolutely adore their food and treats xx

FOSTER UPDATE - JAN 2021

Now that Holly is feeling better, the girls are partners in crime and do get up to mischief, so will keep any prospective home 'on their toes' ! They have obviously not been street walked out on a lead previously and are quite a handful weaving between each other, so would poss be better suited to been driven to an open space for walking or a semi rural home without busy roads.

FOSTER UPDATE - FEB 2021

Daisy has now been spayed and has really come out of her shell and first to greet everyone now!! She is full of beans and constantly wants to interact with you with toys and play with Holly, definitely the greediest she is desperate to get in pockets for treats!! Holly is currently stable on a fairly low dose of prednisalone but the acute bronchitis may well have left her lungs scarred so although we will be looking to wean her down, it may well be that she will have to remain on them for life. She will require quarterly scans at our cardiologist in Milford for the first year and we are hoping that with the improvements this will scale down. This does not impede her normal everyday life although obviously she will not be up to walking miles!!! They are an adorable pair that just want cuddling when they ar indoors xx

ECR WILL BE COVERING THE COST OF ANY LIFETIME MEDS REQUIRED FOR THIS CONDITION AND ALL SCANS AT OUR CARDIOLOGIST - THE FIRST OF WHICH IS DUE ON 10TH MARCH 2021 .

BLIND AND LOOKING FOR LOVE AND A WARM LAP

Angel is an adorable , loving & friendly scruffy 11 year old terrier and is sadly looking for a retirement home with a warm lap and lots of cuddles due to a change in personal circumstances.

Her lack of sight doesn’t hold her back and she successfully navigates herself around the home - finding all the best laps and pillows for a snooze. She enjoys her walks and has great recall, always listening out and sniffing for where you are, and will follow you around off lead, just needing a little voice guidance around any obstacles such as holes or steps.

She has lived with other dogs, but over time it becomes apparent that she would prefer to be the only permanent dog in the household - visiting dogs are fine though.

Angel likes to spend her evenings cuddled up next to you, but will also settle in her own bed or with a chew if she senses you are near.

Recent upheavals and her lack of sight have compounded her separation anxiety and she is currently on some medication to assist with this whilst she is settling here at ECR HQ and we would look to continue this initially when she goes to her new home at the rescue cost.

We would look for the new owner to work with a behaviour programme to help assist with the separation issues and really looking for someone that is home based/retired, with understanding neighbours as she does tend to bark when left.

She is such a sweet girlie, just wanting to be loved and so happy to sleep in her bed or nibble on her chews whilst you are busy doing things in the house and it is so sad that she hasn’t got her own lap to snuggle in ☹

If you have room in your heart and on your sofa for this little angel, please contact us.

We are looking for either an Adoption  or a Foster ( where all veterinary expenses will be covered by the rescue) Home for Angel.

Angel  is vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered .

Name: Suzie
Breed: Terrier
Sex: Female
Age: 7 yrs
Colour: Tan with white rough coat
Dog friendly:

Happy to walk with dogs but does not want interaction

Cats: Unlikely
Children: ADULT ONLY

Suzie has come into rescue due to her owners health issues.

She is a sweet girlie once you have gained her trust, but she is extremely anxious at first, wanting to greet people then gets worried and panics. She needs an experienced adult terrier home, which is quiet with little or no frequent visitors. Suzie does take time to adjust to any change, so would need a number of visits from any prospective home in order that she can feel relaxed in their company and happy for them to interact with her.  She does tend to resource guard initially and would therefore suit being an only pet, but seems to be more relaxed in the company of other dogs on walks. Typical terrier, she loves to play with a tennis ball which is normally followed by mad zommies and her party trick of bunny boxing. She does enjoy her walks so someone fairly active would be a must.

Suzie's progress will take time and needs a very gentle approach but she really deserves a calm and loving home and will repay your patience with lots of love and laughter at her funny little antics x

FOSTER UPDATE - Suzie has now been at HQ for three months and is coming on in leaps and bounds with her confidence and was happy to greet my mum who she has not met before x She is happy to explore outside on her own but does like to know where you are and is far more playful now wanting to interact with you with various toys and is generally very relaxed x The resource guarding over high value food and treats is still evident but only with my husband and we feel this is because she has not really had any  real contact with men for the last 6 yrs in a home environment.  Grooming is still a big no as she gets very cross with a brush but is happy for me to wipe her down when she has rolled although you can see she is still quite anxious about it x We are hoping to be able to get her out and about more once Covid restrictions are relaxed.

All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and  neutered  where medically appropriate.
